Hollywood star Sharon Stone has brought one of the most talked-about scenes in cinema history back into the spotlight years later. The 68-year-old actress recalled her Catherine Tramell character from the 1992 film ‘Basic Instinct’ with a pose she struck for the 40th-anniversary special shoot of ELLE Spain magazine.
Stone’s shoot, in which she posed on a chair wearing a green trench coat, drew attention on social media and in the tabloid press with its clear reference to the police interrogation scene in the film. The movie, in which she starred alongside Michael Douglas, was etched into memory particularly because of this scene.

THE DEBATE OVER THE SCENE CONTINUES YEARS LATER
In her previously published biography, The Beauty of Living Twice, Stone had made striking claims regarding the filming of the scene in question. The actress recounted that director Paul Verhoeven had told her that her underwear would not be visible in the film, but that she realized the situation was different when she watched the scene at the premiere.
Stone stated that she slapped the director after this incident; however, she also expressed that she never regretted being in the film. The actress’s new shoot also brought this years-old debate back to mind.
In her interview with the magazine, the famous actress touched not only on the iconic moments of her career but also on the difficult process she went through following her health problems. She said that after suffering a severe stroke and brain hemorrhage in 2001, she had to relearn how to walk, talk, and read.
"I managed to recover despite all kinds of impossibilities, but job offers disappeared all of a sudden. At that time, if you were a woman and you had a medical obstacle, it meant you were finished."

Pointing out the difficulties women face in the industry, Stone stated that job offers in Hollywood were cut off following her health issues. The actress said that “invisible obstacles” are often not understood or people prefer to forget them.
Stone, who has refocused on her career after her serious health problems, has two films awaiting release. The actress, who is preparing to complete her personal exhibition in Prague, also played a powerful Hollywood executive in the HBO series Euphoria.
