State Theatres to participate in the 11th Madach International Theatre Meeting
As part of the "2024 Turkey-Hungary Cultural Year," the State Theatres will participate in the 11th Madach International Theatre Meeting, organized by the National Theatre of Hungary in Budapest from April 6-28, with the play "Devlet Ana" (Mother State).
According to a statement from the General Directorate of State Theatres, the Ankara State Theatre production of "Devlet Ana"—written by Kemal Tahir, adapted for the stage by Osman Özkan, and directed by Ayşe Emel Mesci—will meet audiences on April 20 at the Main Stage of the National Theatre of Hungary, as part of an event that will also feature countries including Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, France, Georgia, Belgium, Spain, and Slovakia.
Within the scope of the cultural year being celebrated mutually between the two countries to mark the 100th anniversary of the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Agreement signed in 1923, the National Theatre of Hungary will also perform at the 14th International Theatre Festival to be held in Antalya from May 17-27.
The play titled "Merry-go-Round" will meet audiences at the Haşim İşcan Cultural Center Opera Hall on May 22-23.
