Actress Sümeyye Aydoğan appeared on the cover of the October 2026 issue of Marie Claire Turkey. Posing for the camera in new season designs by adL, Aydoğan discussed both her career pace and aspects of her private world in an interview with the magazine.
Answering questions between two scenes on the set of “Yeraltı,” Aydoğan described her intense work period more as a sense of production than fatigue. Regarding her back-to-back projects, the actress stated, “I manage to keep up with each one individually and feel joy for each one. I experience such a beautiful, fulfilling pride that it erases all my fatigue. Work is my fuel.”

Aydoğan also explained the clarity in her decision-making process by saying, “I strive for it because I want it, but when I feel it isn't happening, I walk away.” While noting that the character Sultan, whom she portrays in “Yeraltı,” is more patient than she is, she said that the character Leyla in “Hatıran Yeter” opened a new emotional space for her: “I learned to expand the boundaries of my emotions.”
Expressing that she positions the characters she plays separately in her mind, Aydoğan said she views each role like a separate “drawer.” Explaining that she closes that drawer and returns to herself when a project ends, the actress stated that she values this distinction to protect her private life.

ACTING, RESTING, AND THEATER
In the interview, Aydoğan also touched upon her past sense of perfectionism, saying she is now learning to trust the flow and allow herself to rest. “Surrender brings a sweet comfort and maturity,” said the actress, noting that she tries to hear her own voice better by stepping back from time to time.
Aydoğan also expressed that she can no longer look at the works she watches merely as an “audience member.” Stating that she finds the acting of Mikey Madison, who won an Oscar for her performance in “Anora,” to be “very real, very impulsive,” the actress shared that there are moments when she watches and thinks, “Oh, I would have loved to play that.” When she does not want to analyze, she mentioned “Avrupa Yakası” among the productions that make her feel good.

Speaking about literature and music, Aydoğan said she recently finished “Anna Karenina” and that she likes strong, dark, and contradictory characters in books. Stating that she sometimes listens to the same song for hours, the actress shared that she is currently hooked on Ajda Pekkan’s song “Yine Tek.”

Explaining that she went to the theater with her father in her childhood, Aydoğan shared that she won an award for a one-person play at the age of 15. Stating that theater affects her more today than it did in the past, the actress indicated that she wants to be on stage again in the near future.
Aydoğan expressed that she stepped back a bit during the summer months to hear her own voice better. Expecting plenty of production, new stories, and encounters that will excite her in the coming period, the actress said she wants autumn to surprise her.
