Summer excitement begins with Mehteran at Dolmabahçe Palace

Domestic and foreign tourists followed the first performance of this year, which took place in front of the Treasury Gate of Dolmabahçe Palace, with great interest.

The Ministry of National Defense Mehteran Unit performed a repertoire that included "Segah Peşrevi," "Şehzade Süleyman Marşı," "Tarihi Çevir," "Mehterhane-i Hakani Marşı," "Ordu Marşı," and "Hücum Marşı" during the approximately 30-minute show.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCES

The Mehter, an inseparable part of Turkish armies for centuries, will once again provide a visual feast for tourists visiting Dolmabahçe Palace this year, as it does every year.

The Mehter, which dates back to the 11th century and was effective in achieving victories by inspiring the army on battlefields for years, will take the audience on a journey through history.

The Ministry of National Defense Mehteran Unit, consisting of professionally trained musicians who perform the Mehter tradition in accordance with its original form, will take part in the show with their costumes and instruments that reflect the characteristics of the period.
