ONE OF A KIND IN THE WORLD
Medusa is known in mythology as a 'female monster with snake hair and sharp teeth' who was believed to 'turn ill-intentioned people who looked into her eyes into stone,' dating back to the early stages of the 1st century AD.
The mosaic, which depicts her and was constructed from colored marble using the 'Opus Sectile' technique, has no equal in the world.
