The dance of passion: Anna Karenina takes the stage at AKM

The ballet Anna Karenina, based on Leo Tolstoy's novel of the same name, which tells the story of love, marriage, and loyalty in 1870s Russia, and set to the music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, will be on stage as part of the 16th International Istanbul Opera and Ballet Festival.

The work, a ballet adaptation by the famous Russian choreographer Boris Eifman, presents the story of the desperate Anna Karenina, caught between loyalty, passion, and jealousy, with the elegance of dance.

Brought to life with the impressive visual language of the St. Petersburg Eifman Ballet, this masterpiece brings a powerful combination of classical music and modern dance to the stage.

The stage design, costumes, and choreography reflect the atmosphere of the period, drawing the audience into the splendor and complexity of 19th-century Russian aristocracy. Performed to the accompaniment of Tchaikovsky's dramatic and profound music, this special production is not just a love story; it also offers a striking narrative about human nature, social pressures, and individual dilemmas.
