Turkish TV series are watched by 750 million citizens in 170 countries
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu stated that TV series produced in Turkey are broadcast in 170 countries and reach 750 million people.
Batuhan Mumcu made statements while visiting the European Film Market, where the Turkey stand is located, as part of the 74th International Berlin Film Festival currently underway in Berlin, the capital of Germany.
'CONTRIBUTES TO PROMOTION'
Mumcu said, "We have won many awards at the Berlinale before. Ministry-supported feature films contribute to the promotion of Turkish cinema and our country by taking part in the world's most important international film festivals such as Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Toronto, and Tokyo. We attach great importance to this and continue our support to increase both film production and international representation."
Mumcu stated that they presented Turkish films to foreign industry representatives at the Turkey stand opened within the scope of the festival, adding, "We are hosting our filmmakers for co-production and other cooperation meetings. These meetings are very important for the development of new co-productions and cooperation opportunities. Furthermore, the international sales of our films take place here, and this is very important for us."
