UK releases special commemorative coin for John Lennon: To be sold for 6,420 pounds
The Royal Mint has prepared a special series of coins in honor of the 85th birthday of the famous musician John Lennon.
The Royal Mint has released a special commemorative coin to celebrate the 85th birthday of legendary Beatles member John Lennon. This coin was designed as part of the mint's 'Music Legends' series and features a portrait of Lennon taken by famous music photographer Bob Gruen in 1974.

The coins will be produced from precious metals such as gold and silver and will be offered for sale in various color options. While the price of a five-pound coin starts at 18.50 pounds, the 200-pound version can go up to 6,420 pounds.

The Royal Mint's Director of Commemorative Coin, Rebecca Morgan, stated the following:
'John Lennon is considered one of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time. He will be remembered as an artist, activist, and advocate for peace, and his memory will be immortalized with this coin.'
