Wim Wenders receives 'Cinema Honorary Award' from Zülfü Livaneli
Wim Wenders, who came to Istanbul as the guest of honor for the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival, received the Cinema Honorary Award yesterday at the Atlas 1948 Cinema before the screening of his film Anselm. Wenders was presented the award by Zülfü Livaneli.
The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) will present the awards at the closing ceremony to be held on Sunday as part of the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival.
Master director Wim Wenders was presented with the Cinema Honorary Award yesterday at the Atlas 1948 Cinema before the screening of his film Anselm. Wenders received his award from master artist Zülfü Livaneli.
A press conference was held yesterday at Yapı Kredi Culture and Arts for Wim Wenders and Koji Yakusho, who came to Istanbul as guests of honor for the festival.
'ISTANBUL IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL CITY'
At the meeting, director Wim Wenders stated that he was happy to be in Istanbul, which he was visiting for the festival for the first time, saying, "I have been waiting 78 years for this moment. Istanbul is a very beautiful city, and I am very happy to finally be here."
