Winner of the Intervision song contest, an alternative to Eurovision, has been announced

Russia, which was excluded from the Eurovision Song Contest 3 years ago on the grounds that it launched attacks on Ukraine, organized an alternative song contest under the name Intervision.

The winner of the "Intervision" international song contest, held in Moscow, the capital of Russia, as an alternative to the "Eurovision" song contest, has been announced. While Russia was represented by Shaman, one of the country's most popular pop artists, the competition also featured representatives from Belarus, Brazil, Venezuela, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kenya, China, Colombia, Cuba, Madagascar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, and South Africa.

Unlike the Eurovision Song Contest, whose format has been criticized recently, singers representing their countries in Intervision mainly used traditional costumes, and many artists sang songs in their own languages.

The competition, which was watched with enthusiasm by thousands of people and where artists received great acclaim for their performances, lasted approximately 4 hours.

VIETNAMESE SINGER DUC PHUC WINS

A voting format similar to Eurovision was used in the Intervision song contest, which took place with the participation of thousands of people at the Live Arena in Moscow.

The winner was determined by the votes given to the performances by the juries of the participating countries, with Qatar taking third place with 369 points. Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc, who captivated the audience with his performance, became the winner of the competition by receiving 422 points. By winning the competition, the Vietnamese representatives also received a prize of 30 million rubles (approximately 360 thousand dollars).

It was announced that the Intervision song contest, which was held for the first time this year, will be organized in Saudi Arabia next year.

SERGEY LAVROV WATCHED THE COMPETITION

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who was the first person to announce that the Intervision song contest would be held, also watched the organization from the hall. Conveying the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the contestants and the audience, Lavrov said that the organization would further strengthen intercultural ties. Evaluating the last-minute decision of Vassy, who was planned to represent the USA in the Intervision song contest, to withdraw, Lavrov said, "We do not have any political goals. We believe that we will enrich ourselves by freely engaging with individuals' personal goals, identities, and spiritual values."
