Winners announced for the 27th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival

Preparing to meet cinema enthusiasts in its 27th year, the "Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival" will be held in Ankara between May 9-16. The festival, which presents honorary, achievement, and young witch awards in three categories to make women's labor in the sector visible, will honor Hatice Aslan, Tülin Özen, Ayşe Polat, Nida Karabol, and Deniz İlhan this year.

Winners announced for the 27th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival

According to the statement made by the Flying Broom Foundation, the "Honorary," "Bilge Olgaç Achievement," and "Young Witch" awards, as well as the festival venue for the 27th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival, which will be held between May 9-16, have been announced.

The theme of this year's festival, which has been organized for 26 years to make the labor of women filmmakers visible, has been determined as "More, Not Less: You Remember the Flight."

The films will be hosted this year at one of the capital's oldest cinemas, which reopened a year ago, "Kavaklıdere Cinema," now known as "Kült Kavaklıdere." The film selection and program for the festival, which will be screened at Kült Kavaklıdere, will be announced soon.

AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Within the scope of the festival, women filmmakers are awarded every year with the aim of making women's labor in cinema visible and encouraging new generations of women filmmakers.

This year's Honorary Award will be presented to actress Hatice Aslan, the Bilge Olgaç Achievement Awards to actress Tülin Özen, director Ayşe Polat, and producer Nida Karabol, and the Young Witch Award to actress Deniz İlhan.

The awards will be presented to their recipients at the opening ceremony to be held on the evening of May 9.
