Works of Komitas included in UNESCO World Heritage List

Kütahya-born Komitas's works will be the fourth Armenian heritage in UNESCO, alongside the Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran's collection of ancient manuscripts, astronomer Benjamin Margaryan's study on galaxies, and composer Aram Khachaturian's handwritten notes and film score collection.

Komitas Museum Director Nikolay Kostandyan stated at a press conference that it is gratifying that this development coincides with the museum's 9th anniversary celebrations.

Emphasizing that the inclusion of Komitas's works in UNESCO's international register is of great importance, Kostandyan stated, "This was made possible thanks to 7-8 years of intensive work and the cooperation between the museum, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
