Zorlu PSM's September program announced: The Bodyguard Musical to be staged in Turkey for the first time

Zorlu Performing Arts Center is preparing for the new season in September with a broad calendar consisting of performing arts, concerts, jazz gatherings, open-air events, and film screenings. One of the most notable highlights of the month is the internationally award-winning The Bodyguard Musicalbeing staged in Turkey for the first time in collaboration with BKM and Zorlu PSM.

The production, which will meet the audience at the Turkcell Stage between September 11-20, will be brought to the stage with its original international cast. World-renowned songs such as “Queen of the Night”, “I Will Always Love You”, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, “I Have Nothing”, and “Greatest Love Of All” will be performed live in the musical.

NEW SEASON PERFORMANCES IN THEATER

One of the sold-out productions of Zorlu PSM from last season, Death of a Salesman, will be back on stage with its first performances of the new season on September 29-30. Arthur Miller’s masterpiece will be presented to the audience under the direction of Rufus Norris, with a cast featuring Halit Ergenç, Zerrin Tekindor, Fatih Artman, Kerem Arslanoğlu, Kubilay Karslıoğlu, and Beyti Engin.

Another production that attracted attention last season, Son of the Sun , will also be on the Turkcell Platinum Stage with its first performance of the season on September 20. Adapted for the stage from Onur Ünlü’s cult film of the same name, the play features a cast including İbrahim Selim, Deniz Celiloğlu, İlayda Alişan, Beyti Engin, and Zeynep Kankonde.

CONCERTS, JAZZ, AND OPEN-AIR EVENTS

International and local names also stand out in the concert headlines of the September program. Opera singer Murat Karahanwill meet the audience at the Turkcell Stage on September 26 with his “Romantics” concert. Guitarist Dominic Miller, who worked with Sting for many years, will take the stage at the Turkcell Platinum Stage on September 25. Icelandic electronic music group GusGus will be at %100 Studio on September 18.

Jazz pianist Kerem Görsevis on the program with three different nights at touché by N Kolay in the last week of the month. The Kerem Görsev Trio will perform on September 24, a performance featuring guest Duygu Tarhan on September 25, and the Kerem Görsev Quartet will take the stage on September 26.

The Vestel Amfi , which received great interest during the summer months, also stands out in the September calendar with open-air events. Within the scope of the City Sounds series, names such as Kinky, Barthez, Belki Biraz, İstanbul West Side Collective, Sena Şahin, Derdo Disco, Plaj, Ada Sanlıman, Alaturca Club, Umur Erdem, and İstanbul Modular Ensemble will take the stage. Pre-registration via the Zorlu PSM application is required for a significant portion of these events.

Non-musical events are also included in the open-air program. Zaten Şov with Melis İşiten will meet the audience at touché by N Kolay on September 1, 8, and 16. Zafer Erbil’s stand-up show titled “Pilot Episode” will be held on September 3, and an open-air yoga gathering with Nati Yoga will be held on the morning of September 6 at Vestel Amfi.

OPEN-AIR CINEMA DAYS

Within the scope of Pluxee Cinema Days, films of different genres will be screened at Vestel Amfi throughout September. The program includes productions such as Little Women, Shutter Island, Ticket to Paradise, Mary Magdalene, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, Senna and Black Bag Operation .

In its 13th season, Zorlu PSM continues to bring together events from different disciplines under the same roof with the motto “Let Your World Change.” Stating that it has hosted nearly 8 million art lovers to date, the institution aims to bring local and international productions to the audience in the new season as well.
