1 day to the election: Warning messages from the YSK to ballot box committee chairs
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) will inform ballot box committee chairs, building supervisors at polling stations, and mobile ballot box committee chairs via text messages regarding the Local Administration General Elections to be held tomorrow.
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) will send periodic informational messages to the chairs and members who will serve on ballot box committees today and on the day of voting.
Accordingly, some of the messages to be sent to ballot box committee chairs today are as follows:
"Do not sign the counting and tally sheets or the ballot box result reports before the counting and tallying processes are completed; furthermore, ballot box committee officials cannot leave the ballot box without signing all election-related documents and announcing the results."
"You may call the district election board regarding any problems you encounter. The phone number for the district election board is included in your duty document."
"You must share all informational messages you receive with the members of the ballot box committee."
MESSAGES TO BE SENT ON ELECTION DAY
The text messages to be sent to ballot box committee chairs on election day are as follows:
"Before allowing a voter who has come to the ballot box to vote, find their name on the ballot box voter list, verify that the signature section is empty, and ensure they vote using one of the official, photo-bearing, and embossed documents issued by official institutions that clearly identify them and bear their T.R. identity number. Do not have them sign the ballot box voter list before allowing them to vote."
"Inform voters that it is prohibited to enter the voting booth with image-recording devices such as mobile phones or cameras, and that these must be left on the table to be returned later."
"Remind visually impaired voters that they can cast their votes using a template."
"Individuals whose names are not on the ballot box voter list or who have a voter information slip but have a 'Cannot Vote' annotation in the signature area shall not be allowed to vote."
"Voters arriving at the ballot box are taken in order by the chair. Voters aged 75 and over, pregnant women, the sick, and the disabled shall cast their votes without waiting."
"Ballot box committee officials cannot leave the ballot box without signing all election-related documents and announcing the results.
Do not leave any election-related documents in the polling area after the counting and tallying of votes is completed.
Deliver the ballot bag to the district election board as soon as possible, accompanied by the ballot box committee chair and at least two members determined by drawing lots among the members representing political parties."
"Election work and procedures, as well as counting and tallying processes, will continue without interruption."
BUILDING SUPERVISORS
The text messages to be sent to building supervisors during the election are as follows:
"Ensure that the number of ballot boxes, screens/voting booths, and ballot box covers delivered to you is sufficient. If there are any deficiencies, notify the district election board."
"Remind the ballot box committee chair that they must seal the ballot envelopes and ballots with the ballot box committee stamp during the delivery of the bag."
"Immediately report to the district election board any ballot box committee chairs who do not arrive at their duty station at the start time of voting on election day."
"Notify the district election board as soon as the counting and tallying work is finished to arrange transportation for the ballot box committees."
A total of 7 messages, including the following, will also be sent to mobile ballot box committee chairs: "On Sunday, March 31, 2024, mobile ballot box committee chairs and members shall be present at the district election board presidency at 06.00. Open and count the combined ballot papers and ballot envelopes in the ballot bag you received by checking it against the district election board and signing for it, in the presence of the ballot box committee, and record them in the minutes book."
