1 police officer martyred: Fate of IETT driver determined
The IETT driver who struck and caused the death of traffic police officer Ogün Yürümez, who was responding to a traffic accident in Istanbul, has been arrested.
The driver who struck a police officer responding to a traffic accident in Istanbul with an IETT bus, causing his death, has been arrested.
Following the accident in Bakırköy yesterday in which police officer Ogün Yürümez was martyred, the police procedures for IETT driver Ahmet Gül, who had been taken into custody, have been completed.
Gül was brought to the Bakırköy Courthouse and, after giving his statement to the prosecutor, was referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for his arrest.
The judgeship decided to arrest Ahmet Gül on the charge of "causing death by negligence".
