11 more people arrested in May 1 detentions
11 out of 12 citizens who wanted to reach Taksim on May 1 Labor Day have been arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace. This brings the total number of detainees to 49.
11 out of 12 citizens who wanted to reach Taksim on May 1 Labor Day and were detained in the operation named 'Gereği yapıldı' (The necessary action has been taken) conducted the day before yesterday, have been arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace.
Previously, 38 out of 65 citizens detained on May 1 and in house raids had been arrested. The 12 citizens detained in the latest operation were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse yesterday following police procedures. The citizens, whose statements were taken at the prosecutor's office, were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for their arrest.
While 11 of the 12 people brought before the court were arrested, one was released under judicial control conditions.
