A large quantity of narcotic pills was seized in a car that police teams in Adana had been tracking as part of an operation against drug trafficking.
The Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch teams began monitoring a car on the D-400 highway following intelligence that drugs would be brought into the city. The vehicle was intercepted and stopped on Turhan Cemal Beriker Boulevard.
During the search of the car, which was noted to have had its license plates removed, 110 thousand narcotic pills were found hidden in the dashboard section and inside the spare tire in the trunk.
The driver, T.T. (29), was taken into custody. It was learned that the suspect stated in his police testimony, "I have no knowledge of the narcotic substances. Someone else might have put them there."
Following his processing at the police station, T.T. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
