124 thousand TL fine for 42 markets selling expired products
An important decision for public health was taken at the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's regular council meeting. During inspections by the Department of Police, a total fine of 124 thousand 26 TL was imposed on 42 markets found to be selling products past their expiration dates.
The Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's weekly regular council meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary General Dr. Hayri Baraçlı. During the council meeting, 91 agenda items were discussed and resolved.

Among the agenda items, significant issues identified for the health of citizens were also brought to the table. The penal actions to be applied to 42 markets, where it was determined during inspections by the Department of Police that products past their expiration dates were on the shelves, were discussed.

It was approved that individual fines be issued to the identified markets. In this context, a total fine of 124 thousand 26 TL was imposed in accordance with Article 32 of the Misdemeanors Law.
