12punto columnist Elfin Tataroğlu's assessment of 'Ahmet Özer': 'Necessary measures must be taken'
Communicator and 12punto columnist Elfin Tataroğlu commented on the arrest of CHP Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer and the allegations regarding the appointment of a trustee.
Referring to the speech İmamoğlu gave on October 29, Tataroğlu included the remark that he "made a striking speech containing serious criticisms of the system."
12punto columnist Elfin Tataroğlu evaluated the developments as follows:
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu gave a powerful speech on October 29, Republic Day, which contained very serious criticisms of the system.
Let us briefly recall what he said;
“This system imposed upon us represents a deviation in our country's historical journey.
The system imposed on us, first and foremost, rejects the separation of powers.
It belittles the parliament and ignores the will of the nation. It turns judicial institutions into tools of politics.
And it fundamentally eradicates the principle of merit, which is the foundation of the Republic…”
The morning after this speech, which received great interest and affection from the public, a process was entered into that would attempt to associate the Republican People's Party with terrorism.
The CHP experienced a similar danger while heading into the 2023 General Elections.
This time, they must understand the seriousness of the situation and take the necessary measures. Black propaganda must not be allowed to pass.
