The 13 suspects detained as part of the corruption investigation conducted into Ataşehir Municipality have been referred to the courthouse after the completion of their processing at the police station. It was reported that Ataşehir Deputy Mayor Murat Güneş is among the suspects.
It was stated that the investigation, conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was expanded in line with the examination of digital materials belonging to suspects arrested on April 20, statements taken under effective remorse provisions, CİMER reports, witness testimonies, and the statements of individuals alleged to have paid bribes.
It was learned that the 13 people detained in the second operation organized within the scope of the investigation were taken to the courthouse after undergoing health checks.
The file includes allegations that, as a result of the examination of the suspects' HTS and base station records and MASAK account movements, some municipal employees used high-value gift cards as bribes and received money in foreign currency. It was also alleged that some company owners provided high-value gift cards and foreign currency.
In the examinations conducted on digital materials, it was also reported that findings were reached indicating that financial gain was obtained by forcing company owners who had zoning and occupancy permit business at Ataşehir Municipality to purchase "garbage containers."
In the simultaneous operation organized by the Istanbul Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau teams on October 3, Ataşehir Deputy Mayor Murat Güneş, deputy mayors Aytekin Şahin and Ekrem Köse, former deputy mayors Murat Korkmaz and Leyla Terzi, Cleaning Services Manager Cihan Karakaş, municipal employees Mustafa Anıl Altan and Gülsüm Aslan, and company partners Emrah Ayhan, Yağmur Kiraz, Yusuf Karademir, Halim Bal, and Ersin Yıldırım were detained.
It was noted that a large number of digital materials were seized during searches conducted at the addresses and that the investigation is ongoing.
