13 suspects detained over alleged market manipulation arrested
The police procedures for the suspects detained as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have been completed, following findings that there were fluctuations in the trading volume and share prices of capital market instruments that were contrary to the ordinary flow of life, and that artificial increases caused losses for small investors.
A total of 19 suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after undergoing health checks.
Of the suspects who gave statements at the Bureau of Investigation for Money Laundering Crimes, 13 were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest, and 6 were referred with a request for judicial control measures.
The judgeship ruled for the arrest of 13 suspects and the imposition of judicial control measures for 6 suspects.
