13-year-old Syrian boy drowns after entering Lake Iznik
In the Iznik district of Bursa, a 13-year-old Syrian boy drowned after entering Lake Iznik. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Halil el Hüseyin, a Syrian national who had come to the shores of Lake Iznik for a picnic in Bursa's Iznik district, entered the lake after a while.
When Hüseyin disappeared from sight in the water, his family reported the incident.
Police and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. Iznik police and gendarmerie teams began search efforts.
As a result of the efforts by the maritime police units affiliated with the Provincial Security Directorate, the lifeless body of Halil el Hüseyin was recovered from the water.
Hüseyin's body was taken to the Iznik State Hospital morgue.
Medical teams intervened to assist the child's family, who suffered nervous breakdowns.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
