15 July Martyrs Bridge closed
A metrobus veered off its lane in the direction of the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and entered the D-100 highway. According to information received, the bridge has been closed.
In Istanbul's Zincirlikuyu district, a parked metrobus slid from its position and struck 5 moving cars. Fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries in the accident, while the 15 July Martyrs Bridge in the direction of Anatolia was temporarily closed to traffic.
The accident occurred around 19:45 at the Zincirlikuyu metrobus station. According to information received, the metrobus, which was parked at the station, slid downhill from its position, crossed the barriers, and hit 5 moving cars. The metrobus then came to a stop after hitting the barriers. There were no injuries or loss of life in the accident. Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
Following the accident, the 15 July Martyrs Bridge in the direction of Anatolia was temporarily closed to traffic. The road, which was closed to traffic for approximately 25 minutes to allow for the removal of the metrobus and the other 5 vehicles, then began to open gradually. Sanding work was carried out on the road to clean up oil and gasoline leaking from the metrobus. After the sanding work, teams fully reopened the road to traffic in a controlled manner. An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
