As of today, the period granted for the renewal of old-style driver's licenses is coming to an end. The transition process, which has been ongoing since January 1, 2016, concludes today, and old-style licenses will be considered invalid starting tomorrow. After this date, it will not be possible to be in traffic with old-style licenses.

RENEWAL FEES WILL INCREASE

Today, citizens who wish to renew their old-style driver's licenses can complete the process by paying 15 lira. However, starting tomorrow, the renewal fee will increase significantly.

Those who wish to renew their Class B driver's license will pay 7 thousand 438 lira and 60 kuruş.

Holders of Class A, A1, A2, and F driver's licenses will pay 3 thousand 643 lira and 10 kuruş.

Holders of Class B1, BE, C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D, DE, G, and M driver's licenses will pay 11 thousand 235 lira and 60 kuruş.

RENEWAL PROCESSES CONTINUE DUE TO HIGH DEMAND

It is reported that there has been significant density at population directorates in recent days. According to data from the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, 214 thousand 725 people renewed their driver's licenses in October. In the last 10 working days, 129 thousand 536 people received new-style driver's licenses.

HOW TO RENEW A DRIVER'S LICENSE?

Citizens who wish to renew their driver's licenses can make an appointment through the website of the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs or via the Alo 199 hotline. The renewal fee is paid through contracted banks or the online system of the Revenue Administration.
