15 suspects apprehended in 'Mahzen-44' operations

In a statement on his social media account, Yerlikaya stated that 15 suspects, including the ringleader Singer, were apprehended in operations centered in Edirne and carried out in Istanbul and Batman, following work coordinated by the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the General Directorate of Security's Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, and executed by the Edirne Provincial Police Department's KOM Branch.

Explaining that the suspects were determined to have been involved in crimes including "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, attempted intentional homicide, extortion, arson, intentional injury, shooting at vehicles, deprivation of liberty, violation of Law No. 6136, as well as threats and insults," Minister Yerlikaya said, "We will not give any breathing room to those who are arrogant in their crimes, those who disturb the peace of our people, organized crime groups, and gangs. We are determined to dismantle organized crime groups, no matter their size, and bring them to justice."

During the operations, unlicensed pistols, 9 fake passports, and numerous sharp and piercing tools were seized.
