15-year-old Kadir Sevilgen, who was severely injured in an incident that occurred during excavation work in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya, has lost his life at the hospital to which he was taken.
The incident took place on October 6 at approximately 11:00 in the Kahyalar neighborhood. According to allegations, the boom of the construction machinery operated by M.K. pinned Sevilgen, who was standing next to the machine during the work.
Sevilgen, who was reportedly working as an oiler on the construction machine, sustained severe head injuries. Upon notification, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the area.
Following initial intervention by medical teams, Sevilgen was taken to Gazipaşa State Hospital and was subsequently transferred to Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Training and Research Hospital after examinations there.
Kadir Sevilgen, who was under treatment, passed away 3 days after the incident.
Following the incident, the owner of the construction machine, R.Y., and the operator, M.K., were taken into custody and subsequently arrested by the court.
