16 suspects arrested in İzmir-based illegal betting operation
16 suspects have been detained in an illegal betting operation conducted across 5 provinces, centered in İzmir.
The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into individuals identified as promoting illegal betting sites on social media platforms, encouraging their followers to engage in illegal betting, and generating illicit income through these activities.
OPERATION CARRIED OUT SIMULTANEOUSLY IN 5 PROVINCES
16 suspects were detained in simultaneous operations conducted at designated addresses in İzmir, Istanbul, Antalya, Adana, and Bursa, coordinated by the Provincial Police Department's Cybercrime Branch teams.
During searches at the addresses, a large number of digital materials and items related to the crime were seized.
SUSPECTS REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSE
The suspects were referred to the courthouse following their processing at the police station.
