16-year-old boy drowns after entering the sea in Bursa
In the Mudanya district of Bursa, the body of a child who drowned after being caught in the waves while swimming has been recovered.
A 16-year-old boy identified as Y.G., who entered the sea from the coast of the rural Söğütpınar Neighborhood, began to drift after being caught in the waves while swimming.
Upon notification by bystanders, Coast Guard and gendarmerie teams arrived at the scene and launched a search operation to locate Y.G., who had disappeared from sight.
The body of the child, which was found after some time, was sent to the Mudanya State Hospital morgue by 112 Emergency Health teams.
Meanwhile, it was learned that 2 other people had faced the danger of drowning in the district during the day due to high waves.
AUTHORITIES ISSUED A WARNING
Emphasizing the importance of not entering the sea in areas where waves pose a danger, as strong winds are expected to continue in Mudanya until the weekend, authorities warned that those who do not know how to swim should not venture far from the shore, and those who do should always have someone with them and comply with safety precautions.
