17-year-old suspect with 71 criminal records caught while hitchhiking

The incident took place in the Çınarönü neighborhood of the central Yıldırım district. According to the information obtained, the Crime Prevention and Investigation (SÖS) Bureau teams affiliated with the Yıldırım District Police Department continue their fight against crime and criminals without interruption. Most recently, an operation was launched to capture the suspect, Batuhan A. (17), who had effectively made the district his base and was involved in numerous theft incidents.

Upon being followed by the Crime Prevention and Investigation (SÖS) Bureau teams, Batuhan A. fled into a field, thinking he could take advantage of the darkness of the night. The suspect, who blended in with the bushes there, later went out to the road and started hitchhiking.

While the Crime Prevention and Investigation (SÖS) Bureau teams blockaded the area, a police team saw an individual hitchhiking on the road. The teams, who identified the person as Batuhan A. in a short time, approached him and took him into custody. In the interrogation of Batuhan A., who was taken to the Bureau, it was determined that he was wanted for 18 theft incidents and had 71 criminal records.
