19 arrested, 16 under judicial control in Manavgat Municipality investigation
As part of an investigation into "bribery, extortion, and embezzlement" targeting the Manavgat Municipality, 19 people, including Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara, were arrested after being referred to the courthouse, while 16 suspects were released under judicial control and 6 were released following their statements to the prosecutor.
In the investigation launched in Manavgat regarding crimes of bribery, extortion, and embezzlement, 41 suspects were referred to the courthouse. Among those who appeared before the judge, Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara, Deputy Mayors Sıla Ceyhan B., Mehmet Engin T., and Gülsüm Ö., council member Mehmet Burak Ç., municipal council members Mehmet T., Mehmet Çevik, Seval Öz Ö., and Osman C., Chief of Staff Bulem Ş., businesspeople Mahmut Kenan S., İlker G., Mehmet Ali F., Mesut K., Kemal T., Şükrü I., and Mehmet Okan K., municipal employee Demir D., and Manavgat Municipality Sports Manager Hüseyin Cem G. were arrested.
While 16 suspects were released under judicial control, 6 people were released after their statements to the prosecutor.
