2 arrests in armed attack on Yapı Kredi Bank branch in Diyarbakır
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an armed attack on a Yapı Kredi Bank branch in the Sur district of Diyarbakır.
In a post shared on the Provincial Security Directorate's social media account, it was stated: "Regarding the shooting incident that took place at a bank branch in the Sur district on June 8, 2026, at approximately 02:20; as a result of the operation launched following identifications and investigations conducted via the City Security Management System (KGYS) and surrounding business security cameras, the individuals identified as Ö.M., who used the weapon in the shooting, and M.K., who was understood to have participated in the incident, were apprehended and taken into custody by the Robbery Bureau of the Public Security Branch on the same day. Both suspects, who were referred to the courthouse on June 10, 2026, following their procedures at the police station, were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison."
