2 arrests in Bolu hotel tragedy
Halit Ergül, the owner of the Grand Kartal Hotel where 78 people lost their lives, and his son-in-law Emir Aras have been arrested.
Eight people detained in connection with the hotel tragedy in Bolu Kartalkaya were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for arrest following their statements to the prosecutor's office.
The court decided to arrest hotel owner Halit Ergül and hotel operations manager Emir Aras.
The individuals detained in relation to the fire tragedy at the Grand Kartal Hotel, which resulted in the loss of 78 lives, are being referred to the courthouse following their processing by the gendarmerie.
Nine of the 14 individuals in custody had been referred to the courthouse. Finally, occupational safety expert Ece Kayacan was also brought to the Bolu Courthouse after her processing. The number of suspects brought to the courthouse along with Kayacan rose to 10.
It was learned that 8 people, including business owner Halit Ergül, were referred to the duty criminal court of peace with a request for arrest following their statements to the prosecutor's office.

EXPERT COMMITTEE CONDUCTED AN INVESTIGATION
An expert committee consisting of faculty members from Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ), appointed regarding the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, conducted an investigation at the scene of the fire.
The investigation into the hotel fire at the ski center, where 78 people lost their lives, is ongoing. As part of the investigation, the committee consisting of academics from İTÜ, appointed by the Ministry of Justice, arrived at the hotel where the fire occurred. The committee, which entered the building where security measures were taken, left the area after an investigation lasting approximately half an hour.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç had announced that an expert committee consisting of faculty members from Istanbul Technical University's Disaster Management Institute, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and Faculty of Civil Engineering, who are experts in fire and building fire protection, had been appointed within the framework of new documents, findings, and camera footage obtained regarding the origin of the fire in the investigation.
