2 arrests in corruption operation targeting CHP-run Kemalpaşa Municipality: Investigation began following a tip-off

The Kemalpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation following a tip-off regarding a Gülşen concert that had been organized for the October 29 Republic Day celebrations last November but was subsequently canceled due to the terrorist attack in Ankara.

Following approximately 5 months of work as part of the investigation, the operation was launched in line with the evidence collected.

In the operation carried out by the Kemalpaşa District Police Department teams against the suspects who were alleged to have 'caused damage to a public institution through fraudulent means in complicity to obtain unfair gain,' Deputy Mayor A.B., suspended former Director of Culture and Social Affairs H.B., municipal personnel S.K. and B.B., and event company official S.P. were apprehended and taken into custody.

2 ARRESTS

The suspects taken into custody were referred to the courthouse following their processing at the police station.

Of the suspects brought before the court after their statements at the prosecutor's office, the suspended former Director of Culture and Social Affairs Halise B. and event company official S.P. were arrested.
