2-story building evacuated in Gebze
Column cracks and structural shifting were identified in a 2-story building located in the Gebze district of Kocaeli. The structure, where three families resided, was evacuated for safety reasons.
On the morning of October 29, a 7-story building collapsed in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, resulting in the deaths of 4 out of 5 family members.
Following the tragedy, evacuation orders were issued for numerous buildings in the district, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Most recently, it was noticed that cracks had formed in the columns of a 2-story building located on 1411th Street in the İstasyon neighborhood, and that the apartment building was showing signs of shifting.

Teams arriving at the address following the report conducted a detailed inspection. During the checks, it was also determined that a measuring device had previously been installed in the building.
The 11 individuals from the three families residing in the structure were temporarily relocated to stay with relatives as a precaution against potential danger.
Meanwhile, it was stated that a demolition order had been issued approximately two months ago for a 5-story building located right next to the high-risk structure.
