2 terrorists, including 1 in the Red Category, neutralized in Operation Kahramanlar

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared the details of the "Kahramanlar-32" operations on his X account.

Yerlikaya stated the following in his announcement:

"Under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command Intelligence Department, the Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie Command began tracking a vehicle believed to contain 2 terrorists in the rural area of Alayurt neighborhood in the Dargeçit district of Mardin province, using 2 J-UAVs assigned to the region.

The suspicious vehicle in question was detected parked at a gas station on the Dargeçit-Midyat highway, and the Kahramanlar-32 operation was launched by the Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie Command with armored vehicle units. As our armored vehicles approached the vehicle thought to contain the terrorists, fire was opened on our armored vehicles from inside the vehicle. Subsequently, following the ensuing clash, the 2 terrorists, realizing they could not escape, blew themselves up.

It has been determined that one of the neutralized terrorists was the terrorist named Rodi Hayri (codenamed) Orhan Elma, who was in the Red category on the Ministry of Interior's wanted terrorists list, and identification efforts for the other terrorist are ongoing.

ORDERED 4 SEPARATE ATTACKS

It has been determined that the neutralized terrorist, Rodi Hayri (codenamed) Orhan Elma, had ordered 4 separate attacks that resulted in 5 of our martyrs, including 2 security personnel, and 12 of our wounded, including 10 security personnel.

The attacks ordered by the terrorist were identified as: the incident on August 16, 2019, in the Pisikayası hill region of İdil district, Şırnak province, where Petty Officer Sergeant Mehmet Yalçın was wounded; the incident on December 9, 2019, in the rural area of İdil district, Şırnak province, where Gendarmerie Petty Officer Senior Sergeant Esma Çevik and Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Kemal Sayar were martyred and 9 personnel were wounded in an IED attack; the incident on May 4, 2019, on the Oyalı-Karalar road in the rural area of İdil district, Şırnak province, where 2 of our citizens were martyred inside a vehicle; and the incident on April 24, 2023, in the village of Çığır in İdil district, Şırnak province, where 1 of our 3 citizens was martyred and 2 were wounded in an armed attack."
