2-year-old girl who went missing in Antalya found: Search and rescue efforts yield results

A 2-year-old girl who went missing in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya was found alive approximately 8 hours later, 1 kilometer away from the spot where she disappeared. The young child, who was brought back in the arms of rescue teams, was taken to the hospital for a check-up. The little girl had gone missing while playing in front of the house where she was visiting with her mother.

The 2-year-old Syrian girl, named Esil Mustafa, who had come to visit acquaintances in the Beyrebucak neighborhood with her mother two days ago, went missing while playing in front of the house around 17:00. Upon the family's report, search and rescue teams were alerted.

A search and scan operation was launched in the neighborhood and its surroundings by AFAD, the gendarmerie, municipal search and rescue teams, and volunteer search and rescue teams. The operations, coordinated by the gendarmerie and AFAD, also included aerial scans of the region using drones.

SEARCHED BY A TEAM OF 250 PEOPLE

Following search efforts in which a team of approximately 250 people scanned every point, little Esil was found alive after 8 hours.

Esil, who was found lying face down as if she had rolled down from a low hill on the side of the road about 1 kilometer away from the point where she went missing, was found to have no serious health problems during the initial check.

Little Esil was taken into a gendarmerie vehicle in the arms of the search and rescue teams and was taken to Gazipaşa State Hospital for a check-up.
