The 2025 'Atatürkist of the Year Awards' have been presented

Prior to the presentation ceremony, a commemoration for Prof. Dr. Muammer Aksoy was held in the afternoon. 

PROF. DR. MUAMMER AKSOY COMMEMORATED AT HIS GRAVESIDE

The revolutionary martyr, patriotic intellectual, and founding President of the ADD, Prof. Dr. Muammer Aksoy, was commemorated at his graveside in the Cebeci Asri Cemetery on the 36th anniversary of his treacherous assassination. 

‘THE CULPRIT: WESTERN IMPERIALISM’

In his speech, ADD President Mustafa Hüsnü Bozkurt once again explained the true perpetrators and objectives of these political assassinations, which are often labeled as “unsolved”: “They are all traps set to realize the century-old, unchanging goal of Western imperialism—which has been revised and brought to the agenda today as the Greater Middle East Project—to transform the Republic of Turkey into a religious state based on a reference that is, in quotation marks, a fabricated religion, and to dismantle it. At this point, the intellectuals who warned the Turkish nation were destroyed one by one,” he said. 

‘IF YOU ARE NOT HERE ON JANUARY 31…’

ADD President Hüsnü Bozkurt addressed the entire political establishment and everyone who defines themselves as “Atatürkist”: “If you are not here on January 31, if you are not in front of Uğur Mumcu’s house on January 24, or if you are in front of Uğur Mumcu’s house on January 24 but do not defend the unitary nation-state, the indivisible integrity of the country, the homeland, and the nation, the unity of language, and the secular republic as they deserve, then talk all you want, and later you can lament why this AKP has not left for 23 years,” he said. 

THE 2025 ATATÜRKIST OF THE YEAR AWARDS WERE PRESENTED TO THEIR RECIPIENTS

In the field of Culture and Arts: Sabahat Akkiraz, in the field of Literature: Ayşe Kulin, in the field of Education and Science: Dr. Naim Babüroğlu, in the field of Press: Mustafa Balbay, and in the field of Contribution to Atatürkist Thought, Economy and Industry Honorary Award: Ahmet Güre received their awards. 

BOOK TITLED ‘A POLITICAL PARTY ALL BY HIMSELF: MUAMMER AKSOY’ INTRODUCED

The book “A Political Party All By Himself: Muammer Aksoy,” prepared by researcher and historian Ali Ergendedeoğlu and published by ADD Publications, was introduced at the presentation ceremony. 

The most distinct point that separates this work from others lies in Ali Ergendedeoğlu’s evaluation of Prof. Dr. Muammer Aksoy not only on a memorial level, but by addressing his political maneuvers and attitudes that will go down in history, on a level that is future-oriented and will shed light on the youth.

OUR ONLY CONCERN IS FOR TURKEY TO RETURN TO THE PATH OF THE ATATÜRK REPUBLIC

ADD President Mustafa Hüsnü Bozkurt said, “Our only concern is for Turkey to return to the path of the Atatürk Republic. What we call the Atatürk Republic is truly a miracle. It is truly a Turkish Renaissance.” 

At the end of his speech, ADD President Hüsnü Bozkurt said, “I am glad we are children of the Turks. I say it with pride. The people of Turkey who founded the Republic of Turkey are called the Turkish nation.

No element of that nation can be counted separately; they are all one and a whole,” and concluded his words with Atatürk’s saying, “How happy is the one who says I am a Turk.”
