2026 fresh tea purchase price announced

The base price for fresh tea, which in the past was announced by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and subsequently by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the time, was announced this year by AKP Rize Deputy Harun Mertoğlu.

Taking the floor at the Parliament, Deputy Mertoğlu stated that the base price for fresh tea, which was announced as 25 TL in 2025, has been set at 35 TL this year.

Mertoğlu said, "The AK Party Rize Deputy announced the base price for fresh tea from the parliamentary podium. Mertoğlu stated, 'The 2026 fresh tea purchase price has been set at 35 TL.

The necessary announcement will be made by ÇAYKUR in due course.

With this increase, which is above the annual inflation rate, the hard work of our producers has been protected, and it has been demonstrated once again that we stand by our tea growers.

Tea is not just an agricultural product for Rize and our region; it is the name of labor, abundance, and livelihood.

I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of our tea producers to our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is always by the side of our producers.'"
