Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared data regarding operations conducted over the last week while tensions over asylum seekers continue.

Stating, "We continue our fight against irregular migration and migrant smuggling organizers with 24/7 determination," Yerlikaya included the following remarks: "We have not allowed any irregularity, and we will not. We have not allowed provocateurs, and we will not. In line with our national interests; we are fighting against migration without interruption, without ever compromising our public order and security, and in accordance with human rights, the law, and our civilizational values, and we will continue to do so."

Reporting that a total of 100 operations were carried out in the Kalkan-25 operations that have been ongoing for the last week, Yerlikaya shared the information: "In the operations, 149 migrant smuggling organizers were caught. 42 were arrested. Judicial control decisions were issued for 21. The proceedings for the others are ongoing."

Yerlikaya also reported that 2,563 irregular migrants were apprehended. He used the expressions, "The apprehended irregular migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorates of Migration Management and deportation procedures were initiated."
