273 organized crime gangs dismantled
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that major blows were dealt to terrorist organizations and organized crime through operations carried out in the first 11 months of 2025. Minister Yerlikaya announced that 35 thousand drug offenders and 273 organized crime gangs have been dismantled.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya made statements at the Annual Evaluation Meeting of Provincial Police Chiefs.
Highlights from Yerlikaya's speech are as follows:
"In the first 11 months of 2025, in the police jurisdiction alone, 2 thousand 63 individuals were arrested in operations we organized against terrorist organizations. 7 terrorist acts were prevented."
"In the police jurisdiction, in the first 11 months of this year, we apprehended and delivered to justice a total of 124 thousand 761 individuals with outstanding arrest warrants, including 20 thousand 844 who committed drug crimes, 19 thousand 460 who committed theft, and 2 thousand 96 who committed intentional homicide, meaning murder."
"In the police jurisdiction in the first 11 months of this year, we dismantled a total of 273 organized crime gangs, including 153 by the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department (KOM), 54 by narcotics units, and 66 by cyber units. As a result of these operations, 4 thousand 267 individuals were arrested. Assets worth approximately 129 billion lira were seized."
"In the first 11 months of this year, 35 thousand individuals were arrested in operations we organized against drugs in the police jurisdiction. 30 tons of narcotic substances and 108 million drug pills were seized."
