The Ministry of Trade continues its inspections to protect the economic interests of consumers, ensure a fair and transparent trade order in the markets, and effectively combat practices that violate regulations.

In a statement made by the Ministry, it was noted that an inspection at a restaurant operating in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul revealed that service fees were collected from customers in 69 separate transactions, and an administrative fine of 274 thousand 137 lira was imposed on the business.

The investigations determined that the business collected additional fees from consumers under the name of "service fee" in 69 separate checks issued on June 6.

Furthermore, it was announced that the price information for 72 products offered for sale at the establishment was not present on the menu located at the entrance, and an administrative fine of 286 thousand 56 lira was imposed in this regard. It was stated that an investigation was launched into 6 different products after it was determined that there were unfair price increases, and the file was referred to the Unfair Price Evaluation Board.

The statement emphasized that inspections will continue uncompromisingly to protect consumers, ensure price transparency, and maintain a fair competitive environment in the market.
