A total of 50 ballot boxes were set up across 17 districts in Diyarbakır. The voting process ended at 19:00. Separate ballot boxes were created for both party members and non-member citizens during the elections. It was stated that 28,000 people participated in the voting in the city.

It was observed that participation in the primaries increased following the arrest warrant for İmamoğlu. Security measures were taken at CHP district organizations. Police teams and Riot Control Vehicles (TOMA) were kept ready around the election buildings.

CHP Diyarbakır Provincial Chair İsmail Akyıl made a statement after the completion of the elections and expressed the following:

'Today was very active; our people showed intense participation. Votes were cast in both the solidarity ballot boxes and the member ballot boxes. The people of Diyarbakır support Ekrem İmamoğlu, and the votes cast will provide him with morale and motivation.'

Akyıl stated that the participation in Diyarbakır was a reaction against the unjust and unlawful practices in Turkey.

Among the voters, one citizen cast a message written by their child for Ekrem İmamoğlu, which read 'Mayor Ekrem, the people of Istanbul know you,' into the ballot box along with their ballot paper.
