29 million lira catering tender goes to former MHP deputy's company: He had made headlines by kissing Bahçeli's hand

According to the report by Mehmet Baran Kılıç, a catering tender worth 29 million lira organized by Istanbul University has been awarded to a company owned by Hayati Arkaz, a 27th-term MHP deputy.

On March 20, 2024, Istanbul University held a tender titled 'procurement of catering services including materials via transport method'. The value of the tender, for which the contract was signed on April 16, 2024, was 29 million 58 thousand 400 lira.

The tender, which was conducted via the bargaining procedure, was won by a company named 'Zcatering Taşımacılık Hizmetleri Sanayi ve Ticaret', which is affiliated with Arkaz Holding.

The chairman of the board of the company, which operates in the fields of health, construction, agriculture, livestock, food, and cleaning, is Hayati Arkaz.

The fact that the lowest and highest bids in the tender were identical created the impression that only one firm had submitted a bid.

İYİ PARTY BACKGROUND

Hayati Arkaz, who was elected as a deputy from the İYİ Party in 2018, had made headlines when he kissed the hand of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli in the General Assembly of Parliament.

Following this, Arkaz resigned from the İYİ Party in 2018 and joined the MHP.

According to information from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Halil Burak Arkaz is at the head of Zcatering.

Halil Burak Arkaz, the son of 27th-term MHP deputy Hayati Arkaz, is also a member of the MHP Istanbul provincial administration.
