29-year veteran police officer testifies in IMM investigation: 'If I am being held to provide false testimony'

Torunler's detention review was conducted on October 30, 2025, by the Istanbul 6thCriminalJudgeship of Peace.

"I WILL NOT DO THIS"

Connecting to thecourt via the Audio andVideo Information System (SEGBİS), Torunler stated in his defense that he is a 29-year veteran police officer and was a salaried employee at the company. he stated that he wasworking, that he did notcommit anyacts that wouldconstitute acrime, and thatno one couldforce him to perform such an act.

According to the report by Cumhuriyet Yener Torunler continued his testimony by stating that he could not attend his daughter's wedding, adding, "If I am being held to slander someone, I will not do it.".

Torunler's statement to the judge is asfollows:

I reiterate my previousdefenses in their entirety. I have nothing further to add. You likely have not been able to review my file. I am being held here on charges ofbeing part of an organization. I have no connection whatsoever with anyorganization. I was a salaried employee with insurance at the company I am working. I neither commit nor would allow any act that constitutes a crime. If I am being held to slander someone, I will not do it. My life has been spent fighting crime and criminals. I am a 29-year veteran police officer. I have nothing to do with these.being accused is a burden to me. I am innocent. From the very first dayI appeared in court,even if they give me a one-day sentence, I am willing to accept five timesthat. I have no connection to any organization or crime. I ammy daughter'sprideI could not go to his side; my mother and father are in the hospital. May those who made me live through these days experience the same. The discretion is yours. Considering the time I have remained in detention,I request my release in a manner deemed appropriate.The Istanbul 6th Criminal Judgeship of Peace, decided to continue the detention of
