In İzmir, after a detention warrant was issued for Denizbank Bornova Branch Manager H.Ö. on charges of collecting 300 million liras with the promise of high profits, police launched a search at the bank branch.

Teams are seizing digital materials regarding the multi-million [TL] fraud case, which is being compared to the Seçil Erzan incident.

WHAT HAPPENED?

H.Ö., the manager of the Denizbank İzmir Bornova branch, allegedly collected money from a total of 5 people, including 2 club executives, with the promise of high profits. After it was determined that money was being collected on behalf of S.Ç., who operates a currency exchange office in Karşıyaka, the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) launched an investigation into the matter.

While the İzmir Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau teams were conducting the investigation, it was learned that the bank management sent inspectors to the branch and that the branch was temporarily closed.

A detention warrant was issued for H.Ö. and S.Ç., the owner of a currency exchange office in Karşıyaka, on allegations of "qualified fraud" and "embezzlement."

Police detained the currency exchange office owner S.Ç. at his workplace in the Karşıyaka district. The suspect was taken to the Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau to have his statement taken.
