Hatay MP Necmettin Çalışkan, Denizli MP Sema Silkin Ün, and Bursa MP Mehmet Atmaca, who were detained by Israel, have landed at Istanbul Airport.
Saadet Party Bursa MP Mehmet Atmaca, Saadet Party Hatay MP Necmettin Çalışkan, and Future Party Denizli MP Sema Silkin Ün were among those who set out on the Conscience Ship, which was sailing in the Mediterranean, to draw attention to the blockade of Gaza. The MPs, who were illegally detained by Israel, had begun their return journey to Turkey via Azerbaijan.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli stated in a post on his X account, "Our three MPs, who were on the boats belonging to the Freedom Flotilla seized by Israel, returned to our country this evening (October 9)."
Öncü Keçeli noted that the other 18 Turkish citizens who were on the flotilla would be brought to the country tomorrow afternoon on a special flight to be organized by Turkish Airlines.
Keçeli stated that they also plan to evacuate approximately 80 activists who are citizens of third countries on the flight in question.
