3 of our police officers were martyred: 25 people detained after the ISIS attack in Yalova are at the courthouse
In Yalova, where three police officers were martyred during an operation against ISIS, 25 suspects captured in simultaneous raids carried out by security forces across the city have been referred to the courthouse.
During the clash that occurred in an ISIS operation carried out on the night connecting December 29 to December 30 in Yalova's İsmet Paşa neighborhood, police officers İlker Pehlivan (47), Turgut Külünk (50), and Yasin Koçyiğit (49) were martyred, while eight police officers and one night watchman were injured.
During the incident, a total of 11 people, including five women and six children who were at the address where the operation was taking place, were safely removed. Six terrorists were neutralized in the clash.
As a result of the large-scale operations launched across different parts of the city following the incident, 25 people, including three women who were in the house, were detained. Following their processing at the police station, these individuals were referred to the Yalova Courthouse.
It was reported that the investigation is ongoing and security measures have been increased in the city.
