As part of an operation conducted against the Sarıyer and Şişli municipalities over allegations of providing financing to the DHKP/C, 32 people, including former Sarıyer Mayor Şükrü Genç, have been taken into custody.
Among those detained in raids on 34 addresses is former Ataşehir Deputy Mayor Abdullah Der.
FORMER MAYORS SUMMONED FOR TESTIMONY
Within the scope of the investigation, former Maltepe Mayor Ali Kılıç has been summoned to testify as a "victim," while former Şişli Mayor Hasan Hayri İnönü and former Şişli Deputy Mayor Abdurrahman Emir Sarıgül have been summoned as "witnesses."
