370 million lira fraud disguised as courier delivery

In Ankara, fraudsters posing as couriers trapped citizens by placing promissory notes under cargo receipts.

It was determined that the 3 suspects, who had 370 million lira worth of promissory notes signed using this method, were taken into custody by the police. Two of the suspects were arrested and sent to prison.

According to the information received, teams from the Ankara Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau launched an investigation into crimes of qualified fraud and forgery of official documents.

It was determined that 3 people, posing as cargo company employees, had a person sign a receipt under the pretext of delivering a gift package, and had placed a promissory note under the receipt by creating a window-style signature block.

THEY INITIATE ENFORCEMENT PROCEEDINGS AGAINST THOSE WHO SIGNED THE NOTES

Following this, police teams organized a simultaneous operation and took the 3 individuals into custody. It was determined that the suspects had initiated enforcement proceedings against the people they had tricked into signing promissory notes totaling 370 million lira using this method.

After their procedures at the police station, the individuals were brought to the courthouse, where 2 were arrested by the judgeship, and the other was released under judicial control conditions.
