38 detained in FETÖ investigation regarding 2015 CMB exam

According to a statement from the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of the investigation into the 2015 Capital Markets Board Assistant Specialist Entrance Exam conducted by the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, it was determined that questions accessed by FETÖ members prior to the written exam were distributed to members of the organization.

Research into FETÖ's "study houses" revealed that in the organization's secret communication program "ByLock", exam questions were brought to the study houses under the code name "prayer", and the individuals to whom the questions would be given were discussed and determined.

It was determined that in the distribution of the questions, care was taken to ensure that the questions were distributed in a way that would result in high or low scores according to the university graduation degrees of the candidates, so as not to attract attention.

Following this, it was decided to simultaneously detain 38 suspects in 15 provinces, centered in Ankara, including 18 suspects mentioned in the anomaly report regarding the answer sheets of those who took the exam, and 20 suspects determined to have provided the exam questions as a result of the examination of ByLock correspondence content.

Operations to apprehend the suspects are ongoing by teams from the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch.
